We just learned this in Bible study group and it blew my mind. One small detail we gloss over reading Genesis, I love this living word!! Pay attention to the order…👂
Here’s why Jesus tells us “I am the Light”. Before the sun was even formed, creation received its first light through Jesus, the eternal Light. It was a created light that served as a witness, pointing back to its uncreated Source.
Later God creates the light of the sky, and us as light reflectors-witnesses to the Light. Woooow 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🙌🙌🙌🙌
“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was LIGHT. Genesis 1:3
“And God said, “Let there be LIGHTS in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” Genesis 1:14-15
“In the beginning was the Word [Jesus], and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God. He was with God in the beginning. THROUGH HIM ALL things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John 1:1-3
And one day, we’ll be reunited with the eternal Light Source-
“There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them LIGHT. And they will reign for ever and ever.” Revelation 22:5
And what did God give us already- His Son…aka- the Light! God is good!
