Somewhere between 🏎️ and 🐌 season…

I was looking thru my phone notes on the topic of “slowness” after having a procedure that physically slowed me down and humbled me lol. Here are some gems.

It’s funny, God’s been helping me unlearn the idea that my analyzing and planning sprinkled with prayer is what creates trustable outcomes. It’s actually nothing in comparison to just trusting God with ALL outcomes. Easier too.

But I quickly realize we don’t really like God’s timeline. Sometimes the answers are instant, but sometimes not.

I was reading the book of Habakkuk. God told them how He was going to judge and deliver Judah. He answered their prayers and provided deliverance. But it took 15–30 years after the prophet received that word for it to come to pass.

Habakkuk, with God’s own answer written, still had to wait in the unknown. Dude just went to work the next day…for years.

So because some answers take longer, does that mean God did not already answer our prayer? How can we even fathom God’s timing for the things we ask for? God exists outside of time itself.

The question becomes… do you believe Him? Trust Him?

And I’m learning now, if you do…then act like it. Wait, live life like it, and faithfully know it!

Right now I have a physical wound I prayed to be healed. That prayer was answered before I even found out I needed this, and again when I trusted God and surrendered to the process after. My physical body may take weeks to heal, but the prayer was already answered.

Waiting is part of the process of fulfillment. Faith is about trusting the process while still living your life. We do not know the time, nor hour…we don’t get the timeline. We just live in the promise of being with God, all the time.

Look at a few others that had to wait for their promise to catch up….reminding us that waiting- even for years, can be part of the plan too.

• Moses ~40 yrs wilderness (plus 40yrs before calling)
• Abraham ~25 yrs for Isaac
• Joseph ~13 yrs dreams to rulership
• David ~10–15 yrs to kingship
• Apostle Paul ~10+ yrs before ministry
• Elijah ~3.5 yrs drought
• Lazarus -4 days in the tomb

A story of God freeing me in my identity: So there’s a Bible verse that always sticks out to me, and lately I was questioning God on it-

“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭19‬ ‭

Now, I really talk to my God so I was like Lord how in the world do we see something new? Israel didn’t get it. I’ve never seen it before, it’s new to me of course I don’t perceive it?! This verse frustrated me. Bc I know I’m new in Christ, but it feels hard at times like I’m doing it wrong. Am I seeing the new? So I doubt, lament to God and pray, and listen and wait.

Weeks later, I’m at Bible study and someone brought up 2 Cor 5, I was like oh so good, I’ll read that tonight. Then unexpectedly I come across this verse and my eyes open wide, my frustration calmed down, I smile, tear up a lil and just knew out of nowhere…wow here’s my answer:

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the NEW is HERE!” 2 Cor‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭

Im waiting to perceive the new, but it’s already here! I’m also reading a new book and it gets to this part. Everything is now full circle. My desire to live this new life, but not getting how to…is suddenly so simple. I already have every new thing, right now. Unlike Isreal waiting, I have chosen already. It’s here-AND-it is finished.

May my performance driven flesh be crucified right here, bc it’s plain and simple. This is how you feel freedom, knowing your true identity in Christ! I wasn’t feeling like I was walking in what I ALREADY WAS! Amen for answers!

We just learned this in Bible study group and it blew my mind. One small detail we gloss over reading Genesis, I love this living word!! Pay attention to the order…👂

Here’s why Jesus tells us “I am the Light”. Before the sun was even formed, creation received its first light through Jesus, the eternal Light. It was a created light that served as a witness, pointing back to its uncreated Source.

Later God creates the light of the sky, and us as light reflectors-witnesses to the Light. Woooow 🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯🙌🙌🙌🙌

“And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was LIGHT. Genesis 1:3

“And God said, “Let there be LIGHTS in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years, and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” Genesis‬ ‭1‬:14-15 ‭

“In the beginning was the Word [Jesus], and the Word was with God, and the Word WAS God. He was with God in the beginning. THROUGH HIM ALL things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John‬ ‭1‬:‭1‬-‭3‬

And one day, we’ll be reunited with the eternal Light Source-
“There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them LIGHT. And they will reign for ever and ever.” Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭5‬ ‭

And what did God give us already- His Son…aka- the Light! God is good!
